Grazing Lands List Server

The Grazing Lands list server is named GLTFORUM. All grazing land specialists in the Grazing Lands Personnel Directory and others are on the list server. There are about 320 people currently subscribed.

We encourage the use of the GLTFORUM list server as a quick and easy way to distribute information, ask questions of and provide answers to other specialists, and discuss current issues. Currently, the GLTFORUM is completely open and may be subscribed to by anyone.

Sending a message on the list server

Anyone on the list may send a message by addressing their E-mail message to gltforum@ftw.nrcs.usda.gov. Any list member may reply to the message; the reply will also go to all the list members. The list server is not for private messages.

Commands

The software we are using is "Majordomo." Thus, all commands are to be sent to majordomo@ftw.nrcs.usda.gov. When sending commands, leave the subject line of your E-mail message blank. The following is a list of commands to be typed in the body of the message you are sending:

To subscribe yourself to the list server:	`subscribe gltforum (your email address)`
To unsubscribe yourself to the list server:	`unsubscribe gltforum (your email address)`
To return an index of files you can "get" for:	`index gltforum`
To get a file related to this list server:	`get gltforum (filename)`
To find out which lists an email address is on:	`which (email address)`
To find out who is on this list server:	`who gltforum`
To retrieve the general introductory information for this list server:	`info gltforum`
To show the lists served by this Majordomo server:	`lists`
